About

Mission

Terra Forest School’s mission is to provide a safe atmosphere for children to ignite a deep connection to themselves, a strong bond to their land, and a lifelong relationship with the natural world through a whole-child approach and nature immersion.

We understand that children need a natural integration of all their senses to achieve healthy bodies, creative minds and overall well-being in all areas of their development.

Because we believe children are all unique, we celebrate those differences by offering an educational experience that fosters collective growth, empathy for all living things and emotional stability as children reach their natural highest potential.

We believe that children need a dynamic, always-changing natural environment that satisfies every child’s fundamental need for space exploration and organic discovery of the world around them: Our beautiful Planet Earth.

Vision

Terra Forest School envisions a world of conscious and connected children where families, educators, and peers come together collectively to foster social kindness, respect, and environmental stewardship.
We hold space for organic creativity, exploration, and resiliency as children are able to thrive all areas of development: Cognitive, socio-emotional, fine and gross motor and adaptive skills.
As we instill a true connection to the natural world, can lead our next generation to heal and protect our biggest home, Planet Earth, so we can create a safer, healthier place for generations to come.

Philosophy

Terra Forest School combines the most valuable elements from different teaching philosophies such as Montessori, Waldorf and Regio-Emilia.
As a nature-based early childhood education program, we take an immersive approach, putting nature at the heart of the program and children leading the way.
We take a whole-child teaching approach as we support each of our children’s emotional as well as developmental needs.
Our teaching philosophy is founded on positive reinforcement, positive framing, and always prioritizing consent.
We want children to have a feeling of belonging where they feel valued, seen, and heard.
Teachers are guides and facilitators who are aware of children’s unique needs in all areas of development: socio-emotional, cognitive, fine/gross motor, communication, and adaptive skills.
